Taco Time was born from a simple idea: that truly great taco time food should be accessible to everyone — made fresh, served with heart, and loaded with bold authentic flavor.
It all started in 2009 when founder Maria Reyes opened a modest food stand on Green Acres Rd in Eugene, OR. Armed with her grandmother's recipes and an unwavering belief in fresh ingredients, Maria introduced the community to what real taco time flavors could taste like.
Word spread fast. Within two years, the stand became a brick-and-mortar restaurant. Today, tacotime is synonymous with community, quality, and the kind of food that brings people together around the table — and keeps them coming back for more.

The First Stand
Maria Reyes opens a modest outdoor taco stand on Green Acres Rd with just three recipes — all passed down from her grandmother in Oaxaca, Mexico.
First Brick & Mortar
After two years of sold-out weekends and a growing waitlist, Taco Time opens its first permanent restaurant location in Eugene, Oregon — seating 40 guests.
Regional Recognition
Taco Time wins "Best Mexican Restaurant in Lane County" for the first time — an award the team would go on to win four consecutive years in a row.
Expansion & New Menu
A full kitchen renovation doubles capacity. The expanded menu introduces birria tacos, house-made aguas frescas, and a vegetarian/vegan section that quickly becomes a customer favorite.
